How should I use Vox Visuals products, and what can they do for me? What kind of equipment will I need to use Vox Visuals video tracts? Can I help Vox Visuals in any way?
Answer: Chiefly, you will use Vox Visuals products to supplement your congregation's outreach and catechesis. Do you currently have a tract rack somewhere in your narthex or parish hall? Do visitors to your church, family, friends, parents of your school's students ever ask about what Lutherans believe? Have you ever wanted to bridge the gap with someone, start a conversation about the Gospel? Do any of your members ever express the need for a little help in communicating the Faith with people they know? Your church may already provide pamphlets, tracts, booklets, audio cassette tapes or some other media for assisting in outreach and explanation of the Faith. Vox Visuals is simply one more avenue for reaching people with the Gospel. Our video tracts are only around 10 minutes long. They will play in any computer or DVD player that supports DVD-R format. You may hand them to Sunday visitors as they leave, or bring them along on a friendly follow-up visit. By setting up a video tract rack wherever you are currently locating information about your congregation, members and visitors alike may find a constantly expanding resource of professionally made video tracts which answer questions about the Christian Faith. Answer: All you need to get up and running is a DVD burner and software on your computer. If your church is not adequately equipped for DVD burning, one of your members likely is. Just copy the image of our Master DVD to your computer's hard drive, and you are ready to burn copies to DVD-R disks (you may use other formats, but DVD-R is considered the most widely compatible). Perhaps one of your congregation's high school or college students would like to keep your supply of DVD burns current! Chances are, congregational youth also have experience making labels for CD's or DVD's. Perhaps someone could design a label for your congregation (or use the file that comes on our Resource CD) so that your video tracts look nice. At any rate, this is what you will need . . . 1. A computer with a DVD burner. Please note that some burners are not as compatible with the gamut of DVD players on the market as are others. Choose a good, reputible DVD burner for best results. 2. DVD burning software (such as Nero, Roxio or Sonic) 3. Someone to make burns, or copies of your DVD (takes as little as 6-8 minues per burn at 16x). Please note that we suggest using DVD-R for the widest compatibility. Also, while individual results will vary, we suggest the use of reliable brands of blank DVDs such as Sony, Verbatim and iMation. 4. Labels to make your DVDs attractive (be sure to include your congregation's contact information on your labels). Please note that applied labels may cause some disks to be unreadable by certain lower-end players. New label-making technology is increasingly making it affordable to burn labels straight to disks. 5. Jewel cases or paper slipcovers (by using jewel cases, you have the option of providing additional outreach information on front or back inserts, and even on inserted pamphlets) Back to top
